Stephen Grote nospam@example.com Tue, 18 Jul 2006 03:53:11 +0100 http://stephengrote.com/teaching/ A few people have experienced problems with the large format Polaroid 545i film back. The most common problem is getting an entirely black image. This is an indication that the Polaroid/film has not been exposed to light. The reason is usually that a small black piece of tin is stuck in the bottom of the Polaroid holder which keeps the clip in the bottom of the holder from properly gripping the Polaroid when it is inserted in the back. The clip is pushed in so the paper dark slide  never comes off the film and the film does not get exposed. If you have this problem you need to carefully pull the sides off the Polaroid back and take the stuck piece of tin out of the holder. Put the  sides back on the holder and your next Polaroid should come out properly exposed (provided you have given it the right exposure according to you meter).
